1. Who we are
Locava ("we", "our", "us") operates locava.bar, locava.in, and related subdomains (the "Platform"). We provide a hyperlocal business discovery service connecting customers with local bars, restaurants, cafes, gyms, and retail stores in India. Our registered address is India.

2. Information we collect
From visitors (customers browsing the platform):
- Browser type, device type, and approximate location (city-level only, via IP address)
- Pages visited, deals clicked, and WhatsApp button taps (anonymous analytics)
- Search terms entered on the platform
From business owners (venue listings):
- Business name, address, phone number, WhatsApp number, and email
- SPOC (Single Point of Contact) name and contact details
- Business photos, menu, opening hours, and deal information you provide
- Billing information (processed via third-party payment gateway — we do not store card numbers)
From contact forms:
- Name, email, phone number, and the message you submit via our listing enquiry form
3. How we use your information
- To display your venue listing and deals to customers on the Platform
- To contact you about your enquiry, subscription, or platform updates
- To send you analytics about your venue page performance (business owners only)
- To improve the Platform based on aggregate, anonymised usage data
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not serve advertising based on personal profiles.
4. WhatsApp bookings
When a customer taps a WhatsApp button on a venue page, they are redirected directly to WhatsApp to message the venue's SPOC. Locava does not see, store, or intercept these conversations. The booking relationship is entirely between the customer and the venue.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how visitors use the Platform. We use:
- Google Analytics (if configured by the site owner) — anonymised pageview and event data
- Essential cookies — required for the Platform to function (session state, preferences)
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or remarketing tags. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
6. Data sharing
We share data only with:
- Web3Forms — processes contact form submissions on our behalf (see web3forms.com/privacy)
- Payment processors — for subscription billing (they have their own privacy policies)
- Google Analytics — anonymised usage data only
- Legal authorities — if required by Indian law or a valid legal process
7. Data retention
Venue listing data is retained for as long as your subscription is active, plus 30 days after cancellation (to allow reactivation). Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months. Analytics data is retained for 26 months in aggregate, anonymised form.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Object to processing for direct marketing

9. Children's privacy
Our Platform is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, contact us immediately at privacy@locava.in and we will delete it.
10. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. Use the Platform at your own risk and report any suspected security issues to security@locava.in.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered venue owners of material changes via email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
